Dear all,

The University of Strasbourg announces an open position for a lecturer / Assistant Professor (50% teaching, 50% research) in animal biology, starting in September 2016.
Teaching duties (preferentially done in French) will cover cell to animal biology with an important component in zoology and systematics. So, the candidate needs to have a strong background in animal evolution and zoology, a plus would be to have done past teaching/research work using natural museum collections, or to be an experimented naturalist.
The 50% research activity will be done either at the INCI (Neurosciences) or at the IPHC-DEPE (Ecophysiology and Evolution), depending on the profile of the successful candidate selected during the oral defense in next May.
You will find enclosed the description of the research profile corresponding to the DEPE. The department strategy is to call for applications from external candidates, seeking for the best profile to compete (in both teaching matching and publication record), in either of the research fields presently developed at the DEPE. http://www.iphc.cnrs.fr/-DEPE-.html
Please, diffuse the description in and around your teams. Short pre-applications must be sent beforehand to F Criscuolo. This may help the candidates to better define how they will be able to develop their research in connection with the existing DEPE thematics.

University selection committee will pre-selected candidates and listen to oral defenses between the 24/3/2016 and the 19/05/2016
Official opening of applications on Galaxie: 9/2/2016 (closing date: 10/3/2016)
Applications have to be done on Galaxie Web site https://galaxie.enseignementsup-recherche.gouv.fr/antares/can/index.jsp

Thanks for your help
Sincerely yours,

F Criscuolo
